Lebanese minimum wage among the lowest in the world as currency plumbs new depths

By comparing Lebanon’s minimum wage to that of other countries (having same, higher or lower cost of living), we conclude that Lebanon ranks low (after Bangladesh). Like Lebanon, Tunisia and Jordan’s minimum wage amounts respectively to USD 125 and USD 311. The following table compares the Lebanese minimum wage to that of some other countries (noting that, in some cases, the comparison is impractical for being based on disparate socio-economic data).

Lebanon, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Angola are among the countries with lowest minimum wage, followed by Gambia, Yemen, Malawi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Sudan.
