Health insurance is a Lebanese priority

In light of the state’s inability to provide health care and hospitalization to the Lebanese people, the Lebanese have resorted to private health insurance.  The available figures show that the annual average of insurance premiums during the years 2014-2018 amounted to USD 1,570 million, with the highest percentage for health insurance premiums (31% or USD 486 million) followed by life insurance premiums (30% or USD 471 million). Therefore, health and life insurance account for 61%, i.e. USD 957 million of the total insurance premiums.
