LBP 176 billion: The cost of public hospital staff in Lebanon
Lebanon’s 29 public hospitals employ staff costing the state around LBP 132 billion annually. After implementing the new salary scale, this cost increased by LBP 44 billion, reaching LBP 176 billion. The salary of Grade 1 Director-General in hospitals with 300 beds and more is an example.
-1st category: The salary of Grade 1 Directors-General has increased from LBP 5.5 million to LBP 7 million, and that of the Last Grade from LBP 7.074 million to LBP 11.725 million.
-3rd category: The salary of Grade 1 Directors-General has increased from LBP 2.809 million to LBP 3.725 million, and that of the Last Grade from LBP 4.069 million to LBP 6.350 million.
-4th category: The salary of Grade 1 Directors-General has increased from LBP 1.105 million to LBP 1.780 million, and that of the Last Grade from LBP 1.909 million to LBP 3.310 million.
