South Lebanon’s Third District: Christian voters have increased by 5.2%, Muslim voters by 18.3%

The number of Christian registered voters in South Lebanon’s Third District has increased from 42,405 in 2009 to 44,630 in 2017, i.e. by 5.2%. Greek Catholic voters have increased by 18.4%, Maronite voters by 5.8%, whereas Greek Orthodox voters have decreased by 1.1%. As for Muslim voters, they have increased from 343,174 in 2009 to 406,064 in 2017 (25.5%). Druze voters have increased by 15.6%, Shia’a voters by 18.3%, and the greatest increase was among Sunni voters (20.2%).
