59 additional staff in the Directorate of Expenditures
The Directorate of Expenditures is a department in the Ministry of Finance. It is the body that scrutinizes and pays governmental administrative expenses such as the salaries of employees and retirees, as well as family pensions after the death of those who have retired.
Recently, the Ministry of Finance called to increase the number of staff at the Directorate by recruiting 59 additional employees, and, as shown in the following table, this will leave the total number of employees at 145.
As the number of tasks has risen, the ministry considers this significant increase and the cost it entails a must. However, simplifying the procedures, reducing unnecessary signatures and introducing mechanization can reduce the required number of new employees.
