The al-Dobbs and al-Dabdoubs-in Beqa’a and the North
Etymology
It is likely that this family was named al-Dobb because the majority of its members were of heavy build.
Members
The al-Dobbs total 50 members, the Dabdoubs 35 and the al-Dabdoubs 15, which brings the overall total to 100.
Regional and sectarian distribution
Al-Dobbs: 40 Sunni members are present in Qezhaya (Mennieh- Dennieh) and 10 Greek Orthodox members dwell in Al-Midan Al-Sharqi in Zahle
Dabdoubs: Sunni present in Tripoli in the Soueika neighborhood
Al-Dabdoubds: Sunni present in Hawsh Hala in the Qada’a of Zahle.
