Lebanon’s Telecoms Revenues
Telecoms revenues
Telecoms revenues have increased drastically in Lebanon over the past few years, particularly those revenues generated from the mobile phone industry, over which the state gained full control on August 31, 2002. In 1995, a few months after operating the mobile phone network, revenues rose to LBP 475 billion. The estimated revenues for 2015 stood at LBP 2,783 billion as illustrated in Table 1, where the following can be observed:

-    Telecoms revenues have increased by 485% between 1995 and 2015.
-    Mobile phones revenues have increased by 9500%
-    Transfers from the telecoms sector to the Treasury have increased from LBP 1 billion to LBP 1860 billion.
