    - Around 382 million people in the world are living with diabetes. An estimated 592 million people will be living with diabetes in the year 2035.
 
    - 46% of diabetes cases are undiagnosed 
 
    - In the Middle East and North Africa region, diabetes accounted for 50% of the deaths in people under the age of 60 in the year 2013, while, in North America, it accounted for 38% of the deaths. 
 
    - 80% of type 2 diabetes is preventable by changing diet, increasing physical activity and improving the living environment.
 
    - Just 30 minutes of exercise per day can reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 40%
 
    - Saudi Arabia has the highest prevalence of diabetes in the Middle East and North Africa with 23.87% of its residents affected by the disease. 
 
    - 1 in 10 people in the Middle East and North Africa have diabetes.
 
    - In the next 10 years, that rate of deaths due to diabetes is projected to increase by 10%. By the year 2030 it is expected to become the 7th leading cause of death. 
    - Diabetes significantly increases one’s risk for developing cardiovascular disease (CVD): CVD accounts for 50-80% of deaths in people with diabetes.
