• Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rai extends his condolences to the President of the Republic and to the Army Commander over the death of the Lebanese Army members.

July 8

July 9

• PM-designate Tamam Salam states from the Baabda Presidential Palace that his patience has limits and hints that the government will be formed by the end of Holy Ramadan, stressing that he has no intention of apologizing.
• The March 8 Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement express objections over the judiciary’s appointment of Talal Maqdisi as interim director of Tele Liban, arguing this action should be within the Cabinet’s scope of work.

July 13

• Israeli soldiers enter into the village of Hawla for some time.

July 15

• The Lebanese Army arrests a pick-up truck loaded with weapons, ammunitions and remote detonators in Ersal. A few hours later, an Army Intelligence patrol detains five people in the Baalbek village of Maqneh on the Baalbek-Hermel highway.The five were in a van that took off from the Nahr El-Bared camp and is reportedly connected to the confiscated weapons.

July 16

• Speaker Nabih Berri reports that whoever calls for the isolation of Hezbollah is pushing Lebanon to destruction.
• The Bar Association appoints 42 attorneys at law to defend the arrested in the Abra incidents.
• In his weekly statement to Al-Anbaa, MP Walid Jumblat calls on quitting the theories of isolation to expedite the formation of the government.
• Following his visit to the Roumieh prison, Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel criticizes the existing squandering noting that the ministry has paid USD 9 million for a renovation that does not cost more than USD 100 thousand. Minister Charbel adds that not using the court existing on premises will entail its transformation into cells for prisoners.
• The Meniyeh Hospital expels 30 Syrian patients who had come for treatment from Al-Qusayr around a month ago due to internal disputes among the owners over the management of the facility that has opened recently. Others claim the patients were expelled for failure to pay for the treatment.

July 17

• Two hurt in a blast targeting a Hezbollah convoy on Majdal Anjar-Masnaa road.
• In a speech delivered during the Baabda Palace Iftar ceremony, President Suleiman highlights the need for dialogue stressing that the blasts of Beer El-Abed and Masnaa are a stark alarm.
