Mixed Marriages in Lebanon (3) : Nabatieh Mohafaza - 11 135 marriages

By sect, 5087 marriages occurred between two different Muslim sects, 3818 between two different Christian sects and 1001 between Muslims and Christians. The distribution of inter-religious marriages by Qada’a was as follows:

  • Marjeyoun: 3568 marriages
  • Nabatieh: 2992
  • Bint Jbeil: 2967
  • Hasbaya: 1608

These marriages were distributed by sect as follows:

  • Marjeyoun: 1164 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 1855 between people of two different Christian sects and 295 between Muslims and Christians (Table 2)
  • Nabatieh: 1748 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 487 between people of two different Christian sects and 308 between Muslims and Christians (Table 3)
  • Bint Jbeil: 1407 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 939 between people of two different Christian sects and 261 between Muslims and Christians (Table 4)
  • Hasbaya: 768 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 546 between people of two different Christian sects and 128 between Muslims and Christians (Table 5)
