Mozart - Ji Yeon Jill

“I was a brilliant musician as a kid. I would listen to any piece of music and play it immediately.”

From Austria’s Court Theater where he enchanted Queen Theresa with his performances, to music tours in the world’s most famous capitals such as London, Heidelberg, Munich, Brussels and Paris, Mozart rose to become one of the most influential and prodigious composers in history.

He was the conductor of Salzburg’s court orchestra but was not allowed to compose or play anything but church music. His opera, The Abduction from the Seralgio, premiered in Vienna with the participation of German soprano Caterina Cavalieri. It was followed by the Marriage of Figaro, which was a huge success in Burgthetaer, all the way down to Don Giovanni and Die Zauberfolte, his last two operas.

“I went to my master Haydn who was known as Father of the Symphony. He smiled happily when he checked my chamber music works.”

“For me, listening to music is the happiest moment. I will never stop composing. I will live on music forever.”

At the end of the book, children can find an entertaining section that enables them to develop their individual skills and better absorb Mozart’s biography.
