Mixed marriages in Lebanon (5): The South Mohafaza - 16,329 marriages

By sect, 4997 marriages occurred between two different Muslim sects, 9331 between two different Christian sects and 997 between Muslims and Christians.

  • Jezzine: 5033 marriages
  • Zahrani: 4426
  • Tyre: 3919
  • Saida: 2951

These marriages were distributed by sect as follows:

  • Jezzine: 279 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 4396 between people of two different Christian sects and 214 between Muslims and Christians (Table 2)
  • Zahrani: 1072 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 3379 between people of two different Christian sects and 219 between Muslims and Christians (Table 3)
  • Tyre: 1076 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 1531 between people of two different Christian sects and 32 between Muslims and Christians (Table 4)
  • Saida: 1940 unions between people of two different Muslim sects, 531 between people of two different Christian sects and 237 between Muslims and Christians (Table 5)
