Women’s Participation in the 2018 Parliamentary Elections

111 women, representing 11.3% of the total candidates, registered to stand for parliamentary elections. The following table shows that women from every district and nearly every sect have put their names forward in the elections. By sect, the highest number of women candidates are Maronite and Sunni. By electoral district, the largest number of women candidates is in the Beirut II district.
