North Lebanon’s First District: Christian voters have increased by 7.3%, Muslim voters by 30.7%

The number of Christian registered voters in North Lebanon’s First District (Akkar) has increased from 68,334 in 2009 to 73,342 in 2017, i.e. by 7.3%. Greek Catholic voters have increased by 52.6%, Greek Orthodox voters by 6.6%, and Maronite voters by 3.7%. As for Muslim voters, they have increased from 155,712 in 2009 to 203,596 in 2017 (30.7%). Shia’a voters have increased by 29.8%, Sunni voters by 30.3%, and the greatest increase was among Alawite voters (36.5%).
